Fonds consists of microfilmed minute books of the Common Council for the period 20 May 1785 to 13 January 1959 occupy some 64 volumes. Volume 3, which ought to have covered the period 1800-1812, appears to have been lost. Most of the volumes after 1827 include some form of index, usually at the beginning of the volume. The arrangement of the contents is chronological within each minute book. This material is located on microfilm reels M-753 to M-781.
