Miller, Lawrence : Private Lawrence Miller served with the North West Field Force in 1885 as a signaller in the Second Company of the Queen's Own Rifles of Toronto. He was the ninth of ten children born to Alexander and Rachael Miller on 19 November 1866. He and his wife, Julia Caroline Miller, had no children. Miller spent his life employed with the hardware firm Hammacher Schlemmer. Until he became head of their retail shop in the 1920s, he was a salesman of piano hardware in the New York area. Miller died in London, England on 2 October 1929.
