Fonds consists of day by day accounts of sea voyage of Robert Arthur Taylor and his wife Laura. Travelling aboard the S.S. Yorkmoor, the couple stopped at Trinidad, Antigua and St. Kitts. The diary includes, detailed descriptions of impressions and activities, while at these stops. Subsequently, they travelled northward to Canada, finally disembarking at Montreal. By train, they visited Toronto, Winnipeg and Vancouver. Their visit to Montreal in May 1928 and visit with Sir Henry Thornton, are recorded as well as their impressions of the rest of Canada. They travelled to California, Oregon and Washington returning to Vancouver, where Mr. Taylor became ill and was hospitalized. Mr. and Mrs. Taylor returned to England in the summer of 1928. This material is located on microfilm reel A-1410.

Taylor, Robert Arthur, 1886-1934 : Robert Arthur Taylor was the son of John Taylor of Metheringham, Lincs. In 1909, he married Laura Webber Sleaford. He was a British Member of Parliament, Labour Party, for Lincoln, from 1924 to 1931, and Mayor of Lincoln from 1924 to 1925.
