Fonds consists of personal correspondence from Wolfson to his family while at Cambridge University, 1932-1934 and from Palestine, 1938-1949, two economics essays prepared for John Maynard Keynes, n.d., 1933, correspondence concerning Wolfson's P.I.C.A. activities, 1935-1936, transcript of evidence given by Wolfson to the Palestine Royal Commission, 21st Meeting, Dec. 15, 1936, transcript of a paper written in Palestine, ca. 1936, transcripts of 4 speeches delivered by Wolfson, 2 to Zionist audiences, n.d., the Couchiching Conference, n.d., and the Ontario Association of Children's Aid Societies, 1973, letters of condolence on the passing of Wolfson, 1974-1975. The fonds also contains photographs of Harry Wolfson visiting Israel; an album of a kibbutz in Israel, 1960; and a colour portrait of Harry and Rose Wolfson, 1958.

Wolfson, Harry L., 1910-1974 : Harry L. Wolfson, economist and community leader, was born in Toronto, the son of Hyman and Rebecca (Tranbetsky) Wolfson. He received his education at the University of Toronto and King's College, Cambridge University 1932-1934 where he studied under John M. Keynes. He served as General Manager of the Palestine Jewish Colonization Association from 1934 to 1950 and as Executive Secretary, Economic Stabilization Commission, Palestine 1942 to 1948. He later became Economic Co-ordinator for the State of Israel 1948-1950. He returned to Canada and served the Canadian Government in a number of capacities including Financial Counsellor, Canadian Embassy, Washington and the International Monetary Fund.

He served on the executive of the Canadian Jewish Congress, the United Jewish Welfare Fund of Toronto, the Baycrest Hospital, the Social Planning Council of Toronto, the Canadian Institute of Public Affairs and Oxfam.
