Pommez, Marie-Claire, 1939- : In 1972, the Canadian Association of University Teachers (C.A.U.T.) hired Marie-Claire Pommez as an administrative assistant. The following year she became a Professional Officer responsible for collective bargaining. At the C.A.U.T., she was involved in a number of organizational drives including one in 1974 to have the Saint Mary's University Faculty Association certified and affiliated to the C.A.U.T. She was also involved in a similar drive at Carleton. In 1975 she left the C.A.U.T., charging the organization with sexual discrimination in salary matters.
