Fonds consists of memoirs, 1941-1945, of Flight Lieutenant Joffrey Flick entitled, "Mediterranean War Zone - RAF" or "Sand Flea and Olive Grove". Memoirs detail his career as a radar specialist in North Africa, Malta and Italy.

The fonds also contains a group photograph of Radio Signals Officers, no.1 Manning Depot, R.C.A.F., Toronto, Ont., April 1941, photo by F.S. Rickard; and portraits of F/L Joffrey B. Flick, R.C.A.F./R.A.F. taken 1941-1945 and 1953.

Flick, Joffrey B., 1917-1953 : Joffrey Flick, military officer, was born in 1917 at London, England. He immigrated to Canada with his family in 1926 and settled in Victoria Harbour, Ont., and there after in Toronto. He attended the Provincial Normal School in Toronto and was employed as a teacher. After working as a radio operator for the Department of Transport and obtaining experience in electronics, in 1941 he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force, receiving a commission as Flying Officer.

He served overseas with the Royal Air Force (seconded from the RCAF) and was promoted to Flight Lieutenant in 1943. He was a radar specialist serving on a number of desert operations in North Africa, then at Malta and later at the Balkan Air Force Headquarters in Italy. He received his military discharge in 1945.
