Fonds consists of a first draft typescript carbon, 1969, as well as the final draft typescript, 1977-78, of "Merry Hell", the story of the 25th Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force, 1914-1919.

Clements, Robert N., b. 1894 : Robert N. Clements, army officer and business executive, was born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and educated at the Yarmouth Academy. From 1911 to 1914, he was employed at the Bank of Montreal, Yarmouth, and in November 1914, he enlisted in the 25th Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force. He served overseas, 1915-1919, and rose to the rank of captain. Clement was mentioned in despatches in August 1917, and was wounded and awarded the Military Cross in August 1918.

After the war he returned to Yarmouth and worked as a student apprentice in a textile mill, June 1919 to December 1920. In October 1921, following courses in cotton manufacturing at the Municipal School of Technology at Manchester, England, Clements returned to Yarmouth as assistant manufacturing superintendent at the Cosmos Imperial Mills Ltd. He subsequently pursued a very successful business career in the textile industry, and retired in 1969, as president of Textile Machinery and Sales Agency, Montreal, Quebec.
