Fonds consists of originals of speeches, 1947-1968, delivered by J.G. Glassco on a variety of subjects. In addition, there is a microfilm copy of a scrapbook of clippings, 1947-1968, concerning the Glassco Commission. It is located on microfilm reel M-2215.

Glassco, John Grant, 1905-1968 : John Grant Glassco, public servant and businessman, was born in Los Angeles, California and educated in St. Catharines, Ontario, and McGill University. He held senior positions with such financial institutions as the Trans-atlantic Fund Inc., the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and the Canadian Corporate Mgt. Company Ltd., before his appointment as chairman of the Royal Commission on Government Organization in 1960. In 1963, he was named president of the Brazilian Traction Light and Power Company Ltd., a position which he held until his death.
