Fonds consists of Peter Karmansky's handwritten unpublished manuscript, Na Mandrivtsi Stolit (Journeying through the Centuries) consisting of 72 pages of poetic verse, describing the historical chronology of Ukraine. The poem entails beautiful descriptive passages as well as numerous references to Biblical characters, mythology and varied poetic techniques. Also included is one sample certificate signed by Peter Karmansky, which was issued to students who completed Karmansky's course, dated 15 August 1913.

Karmansky, Peter, 1878-1956 : Peter Karmansky was born on 29 May 1878, in the small town of Chesaniv, in Western Ukraine, and was educated at Peremyshl, in the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Lviv.

In 1913, Karmansky was one of the teachers recommended by the teaching authorities in Lviv, to the Winnipeg Central Committee to organize an advanced course in Ukrainian language, literature and history. He worked at the Ruthenian training school (Normal School) in Brandon, Man. Disillusioned with conditions in Canada, he returned to Halychyna just before the outbreak of the World War I.
