Fonds consists of an agreement between Kudryk and the Manitoba Ministry of Education for Kudryk to train as a bilingual (Ukrainian-English) public school teacher, 1914 Kudryk's contract to teach in the Koroluwka School District [(Manitoba)], 1919; documents relating to school matters in Svoboda School District at Alvena, Sask., where Kudryk was a teacher, 1923; typescript of "Ukraine-The Sore Spot of Europe", n.d. Originals, 28 pages. Photocopies (4 pages) of the agreement between Kudryk contract, 1919, are also available.

The fonds also contains a photograph of a picnic of Prosvita (Cultural) Society of Fort William (Thunder Bay), Ont., 19 June 1921; photo by P. Andrews.

Kudryk, Stephen, ca. 1895-1944 : Stephen Kudryk, teacher, was born in Western Ukraine and in 1903, immigrated to Canada with his parents who settled on a homestead near Tolstoi, Manitoba. In 1914, he commenced training as a bilingual (Ukrainian and English) teacher in Manitoba's public school system. Though bilingual schools were abolished two years later, Kudryk taught in Manitoba and Saskatchewan until poor health forced his retirement a few years before his death.
