Fonds consists of three letters from W.G. Beer, secretary of the Canadian Lacrosse Team, concerning Massiah's appointment as agent for the touring teams; a handbill and letter announcing the tour; and newspaper accounts of the matches between the two teams in Britain, 1876.

Massiah, Christopher William, d. 1885 : Christopher W. Massiah immigrated to Canada from Bristol, England and joined the staff of the Montreal Herald. In 1876 he accompanied two Canadian lacrosse teams, composed of whites and Indians, on an exhibition tour of the British Isles. Massiah subsequently worked for the Montreal Sun and Times, and for the Minister of Crown Lands in Quebec.
