2.5 cm of textual records.Language of material:EnglishScope and content:Fonds consists of sketches done by and presented by Arthur Lismer to Fern Stanton while she was a student of his from 1945-1946. Three works are life studies of female figures; one was posed for by Fern Stanton. The fourth work is a still life.
Fonds also contains one letter from Arthur Lismer and two from his wife Esther to Fern Stanton, 1950-1952; Art Association of Montreal "Bulletin" April, 1947, and School of Art and Design syllabus, 1947-1948; National Gallery of Canada, "Outline for Picture Study" by Arthur Lismer; notices and an invitation relating to Lismer exhibitions at the Dominion Gallery Artlenders and National Gallery, 1950; Groups of Seven commemorative stamps issued by Philatelic Service, Canada Post Office, bearing Lismer painting, 1970; photographs of Lismer's painting "Little Islands" and of his grave; clippings relating to Arthur Lismer's painting and to his teaching, 1950-1969.Provenance:Biography/Administrative history:Treggett, Florence E.R : Florence (Fern) E.R.
