Papers also include correspondence with members of the Cree community, academics and other knowledgeable persons, including notes of meetings for the design and selection of characters for the Cree keyboard.Provenance:Additional name(s):Biography/Administrative history:Amato, Lanfranco, 1922-2005 : Lanfranco Amato (also Lanfranco Amato di Campolevrini), executive, was born and educated in Milan (Italy) and employed by the Olivetti Company, which transferred him to Canada in 1955. In 1959, he became general sales manager of Olivetti Canada Ltd. and rose to president in 1966. In addition to his business activities, Mr. Amato is active in many community organizations, including: Toronto Board of Trade, Italian Chamber of Commerce of Toronto (past president), Canadian Italian Business and Professional Men's Association (past president), Canadian Opera Co., Toronto Arts Foundation and the Council of Christians and Jews. He has received many honours in recognition of his business and community contributions. During World War II, he served with the Italian and U.S. armies.
