Fonds consists of correspondence to his mother about a trip to Europe, 1895, and to his wife about the Paris Peace Conference, 1918-1919 and the Royal Tour, 1919. Also included are letters from Lyman Duff, Mackenzie King, and H.P. Biggar, as well as speeches and correspondence concerning the Theta XI Fraternity, Toronto, Ont. Materials relating to the Act Respecting Unfair Competition in Trade and Commerce including correspondence, memoranda, and drafts, are also available.

Biggar, O. M. (Oliver Mowat), 1876-1948 : Oliver Mowat Biggar, lawyer and public servant, was born in 1876 at Toronto, Ont., and received his education from Upper Canada College, the University of Toronto, 1898, and Osgoode Hall, 1901. He was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1901, and practised law in both Ontario and western Canada. He was a member of the legal firm Smart and Biggar and served in positions of public trust from time to time. He served as chief legal adviser and official delegate to the Paris Peace Conference, 1918-1919, accompanied the Royal Tour, 1919, and served as chairman of the Permanent Joint Defence Board. He was an authority on patent law, and authored the "Canadian Patent Law", 1927.
