Fonds consists of biographical material and correspondence, original, n.d., 1922-1951, 1975, 2.5 cm, and photocopy, 1922-1951, 1975, 1 cm; commemorative books, original, n.d., 1945-ca. 1946, 0.5 cm.

The fonds also contains philatelic material from the Second World War era including postally-used covers, some bearing a variety of wartime censor and postal markings, as sent to Roman Krochmal, St. Catharines, Ontario, by members of the Polish Armed Forces serving in the British Army during and after the Second World War; and postally-used registered letter postal covers, addressed to Roman Krochmal, bearing wartime slogan cancellations and postage stamps issued by the Polish Second World War government in exile for letters posted from Polish merchant and warships, 1940-1946.

Also included is a portrait of R. Krochmal, 1932 and one of S. Sznuk, 1946.

Krochmal, Roman, 1903- : Roman Krochmal, machinist, born in 1903 in the Russian Empire, immigrated to Canada from Poland in 1928. He settled in St. Catharines, Ont. where he worked for General Motors from 1937 until 1971. He has been active in charitable activities since his arrival in Canada.
