Fonds consists of correspondence with Eugene Forsey concerning constitutional reform, Quebec separation, and other national political questions, copies of Forsey's and Kwavnick's letters to newspaper editors, and drafts of articles for publication.

Kwavnick, David, 1940- : David Kwavnick was born at Montreal, Que. in 1940. Having graduated from McGill University in 1961 with a B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy, he went on to receive an M.A. in Public Administration 1964 and a Ph.D. in Political Science 1969, both of which were conferred on him by Carleton University. During this time he had worked as an administrative officer with the Government of Canada, 1961-1965, and as an Assistant Professor at the University of Saskatchewan, 1967-1970. Beginning in 1970, he taught at Carleton University, first as an Assistant Professor, 1970-1972, and then as an Associate Professor, 1972-1984. He became a member of the Public Service Staff Relations Board in 1984.

Kwavnick is the author of numerous scholarly and newspaper articles, several book reviews, and three published monographs. He gained recognition as a Canadian political and constitutional commentator with the publication of his "The Roots of French Canadian Discontent" in the November 1965 issue of the Canadian Journal of Economics and Political Sciences. Along with his writings on the status of Quebec and French Canadians within Confederation, he has also studied the subject of organized labour as a pressure group in Canadian politics.
