Colonial Conference (1887-1907) : Colonial Conferences took place in 1887, 1894, 1897, 1902 and 1907. These conferences were the principal means of high-level consultation between representatives from the United Kingdom, Canada and other self-governing parts of the British Empire-Commonwealth. After 1907 the Colonial Conferences were replaced with Imperial Conferences, then Prime Ministers Meetings and lastly Heads-of-Government Meetings. See also: The Canadian Encyclopedia, 1985.
