The fonds also contains art work consisting of illustrations by Donald Vincent for the book, "Huron County in Pioneer Times" by James R. Scott.Provenance:Biography/Administrative history:Scott, James Richardson, 1916-1979 : James R. Scott, author and political organizer, was born in Seaforth, Ontario, where he received his elementary and secondary education. He graduated from the University College, University of Toronto. He became assistant professor in English, at the University of Saskatchewan and at University College, University of Toronto; he later became special lecturer in creative writing and journalism, University of Western Ontario and Assistant to the President, University of Waterloo. He was also Director of the Liberal Party of Ontario, 1955-1958, and National Director of the Liberal Party of Canada, 1958-1962.
His writings include "The Settlement of Huron County", "Of Mud and Dreams", "Ontario Scene" and several articles and book reviews.
