Kemenov and Dana L. Wilgress, Canadian Ambassador to the U.S.S.R., to mark the presentation of paintings by Canadian artists to the artists of Leningrad, 1944 and a letter pertaining to a Mutual Aid Agreement between Canada and the U.S.S.R., 1944. The fonds also contains portraits of R.A. Davis, Dana L. Wilgress, and Dana L. Wilgress and daughter, ca. 1914.Provenance:Biography/Administrative history:Davies, Raymond Arthur, 1908- : Raymond Arthur Davies, journalist, was born and educated in Montreal. He began his career in Mexico and Latin America in 1929. He worked in Canada from 1932 to 1934. Subsequent assignments took him to Spain during the Spanish Civil War, 1936; to Russia and the Eastern Front, 1935, 1944-1945; and to the Canadian Arctic, 1943. Davies worked for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and for a number of Canadian publications including Maclean's, Saturday Night, and Star Weekly.
