The fonds also contains photographs depicting the training of C.E.F. personnel at Winnipeg, Manitoba and Camp Borden, Ontario.
Fonds consists of electoral maps of Middlesex, Ontario and topographical maps of Ottawa (1:25 000) and Strathroy and St. Thomas (1:50 000). There is also a soil survey map of Middlesex County dated 1931.Provenance:Biography/Administrative history:Thomas, William Howell Arthur, 1895-1979 : William Howell Arthur Thomas, teacher and farmer, born in 1895 at Caradoc Township, Ont., received his education in Ontario, Alberta and Saskatchewan. He was an alderman in Calgary from 1928 to 1929. He served in the Royal Flying Corps in 1918, and the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1941 to 1945. He returned to Ontario after World War II. Thomas was a Member of Parliament representing Middlesex West, Ontario, from 1957 until his retirement in 1968.
