Fonds consists of textual records including sermons and addresses by several Presbyterian ministers regarding Canada's participation in World War I, together with a few letters relating to an appeal of the British Red Cross Society and resolutions passed by the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church. Printed typwritten and handwritten texts are included.

Also included in fonds is the video A glimpse at the family album: the Presbyterian Church at 125, an introduction to the history of the Presbyterian Church told through the use of photography stills, video clips, and Charles R. Bronfman (CRB) Foundation Heritage Minutes.

Presbyterian Church of Canada : The origin of the Presbyterian Church of Canada dates back to the 16th century and the Reformation in Europe. It was at this time that the Reformed (Presbyterian) Church was established under the leadership of Jean Calvin (of France) and John Knox (of Scotland). The Reformed Church thereafter spread through France, Switzerland, Germany, Holland, Scotland, Hungary. In Canada Presbyterianism was established by Huguenot (French), Scottish and Irish pioneers. It was not until 1604 that the first worship service was held among the Acadians. In 1875, through the amalgamation of five smaller branches of Presbyterianism, the Presbyterian Church in Canada was formed. Textual records were received in 1919 as part of the Mitchell Collection. The records were transferred in 1977 from MG 30 F 3. The video recording was acquired in November 2000 from Mathias Mayer, Program Assistant of the Celebrate Steering Committee for the Presbyterian Church of Canada.
