Family records and correspondence, 1881-1956, as well as official correspondence, 1900-1949, usually of a private or confidential nature, during Ralph Parson's employment with the Hudson's Bay Company, mainly in his capacity as District Manager for Labrador/St. Lawrence, 1921-1930, and as a fur trade commissioner, 1930-1940; also a file of correspondence outlining his activities as a member of the American Greenland Commission, 1940-1941.

Hudson's Bay Company : William Ralph Parsons was born at Bay Roberts, Nfld., 1 December 1881. He entered service with the Hudson's Bay Company, 1 August 1900, as an apprentice clerk, and retired from the company in 1940 as fur trade commissioner. Much of his career was spent in the Labrador District. He died, 24 November 1956, at St. John's, Nfld.
