Rockingham of his experience as Commander of the Canadian troops participating in the Korean War, 1950-1952.Provenance:Biography/Administrative history:Rockingham, John Meredith, 1911-1987 : John Meredith Rockingham, born in 1911 at Sydney, N.S.W. Australia, began his military career with the Canadian Scottish Regiment in 1933. He served successively in World War II as Lieutenant and later Captain with the 1st Canadian Scottish Regiment 1939-1942, as Lieutenant-Colonel with the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry 1942-1944, and as Brigadier with the 9th Infantry Brigade 1945. He was chosen by the Canadian government as United Nations Commander of the 25th Brigade (Canada) serving in Korea 1950-1951, and as Commander of Canadian troops in Korea 1951-1952.
He retired in 1966 from the Canadian Military as a Major-General, and in 1978 was appointed Honourary Commander of the Canadian Scottish Regiment Princess Mary's from Victoria, B.C. He is now fully retired from Military life.
