The Granville papers were used by Lord Edmond Petty-Fitzmaurice in preparing his biography of the second Earl Granville (published in 1905) and his arrangement of selected documents has been retained.
Portions relating to Canada from twenty-one files of the Granville papers were microfilmed from the originals held by the Public Record Office, London, England, reference number P.R.O. 30/29.
