Fonds consists of letters addressed to Edward O'Hara, 1804, by Edward, Duke of Kent, concerning the expected services of the York Rangers; 1811, by George Beckwith, concerning the disposition of troops; 1815, by Frederick, Duke of York, concerning the medal commemorating the taking of Guadeloupe, with O'Hara's draft reply; and by George Nayler, 1815, concerning his nomination as a Companion of the order of the Bath.

O'Hara, Edward, 1767-1833 : Edward O'Hara was born in Gaspé, where his father Felix O'Hara held the seigniory of Grand Pabos. He represented Gaspé in the Legislative Assembly of Lower Canada, 1792-1800, although he did not sit after 1797. From 1797 to 1822, he served with the British Army, ending his career as lieutenant colonel of the 63rd Regiment and Commandant of Saint-Lucia.
