Colonial Office 229 provides manuscript or printed proceedings of the colonial councils and assembly. Only selected volumes have been copied but each volume selected has been copied in its entirety. Volumes 1-10 include some of the sessional papers for the period 1770 to 1842; volume 12, for the period 1843 to 1846; volume 14, 1847 to 1849; volume 16, 1850 to 1853; volume 21, 1854 to 1855. This material is available on microfilm reels B-1402 to B-1409.

In addition to the microfilm copies, the National Archives of Canada also holds transcripts in the composite and artificial series known as Prince Edward Island "B", "C" and "D". Most of the material transcribed for these series is now located in CO 229 or CO 226. Prince Edward Island "B" includes Executive Council minutes, 1770-1789, 1805-1806; Prince Edward Island "C" provides Legislative Council journals, 1773-1803, 1806; Prince Edward Island "D" is composed of Assembly journals, 1776-1806, 1818-1820. This material is available on microfilm reels C-13963 to C-13965.
