Collection search - WO 1. In-Letters and Papers [textual record (chiefly microform)]

From 1800 to 1840, the correspondence was generally filed with those of the Colonial Office (see MG 11). Those items sent from the 1840s onward relate generally to the military business of the Colonial Office. The letters in WO 1 are organized under the various military stations from which they were sent. After 1840 each year's in-letters are arranged internally under the various military stations or public departments from which they were sent, or under the subjects with which they deal or alphabetically by the name of the write.
