The fonds consists of microfilm of those parts of the American Colonial Section of the Fulham Papers which pertain to Canada. Included are the following: general correspondence, 1606-1824, 3 microfilm reels; Ordination papers, 1747-1802, 3 reels; Missionary bonds, 1748-1811, 2 reels; Diocesan Book for the Plantations, 1685-1742, 1 reel; Entry Books of Clergy Ordained, Licensed for the Plantations, 1718-1793, 2 reels; pamphlets, n.d., 1742-1808, 1 reel. Materials relating to Canada pertain to Newfoundland, 1711-1802, Nova Scotia, 1727-1797, Cape Breton, 1784, Cape Sable, 1767, Prince Edward Island 1769, Quebec, 1764-1796, and Upper Canada, 1796. Similar material concerns the thirteen American colonies and the West Indies, with a lesser amount referring to Africa and England.

This material is located on microfilm reels A-1028 to A-1034.

Fulham Papers : "The Fulham Papers", the name given to the archives of the Bishops of London, were formerly kept in the library of the Bishop of London's Palace at Fulham. They are now housed in the Archbishop of Canterbury's Lambeth Palace Library. Since the Bishops of London were virtually the diocesan heads of the Church of England overseas during the colonial period, these archives contain an American Colonial Section, amounting to some 42 volumes, which includes a considerable amount of material relating to Canada.

Textual records (Électronique) The finding aid is comprised of two parts, the Fulham Papers in the Lambeth Palace Library, American Colonial Section, Calendar and Indexes, compiled by W.W. Manross, and an indexed shelf list of the material available at the NA. MSS0181 (90: Ouvert)

Textual records (Papier) The Manross Calendar provides descriptions of the material in Volumes 1-40; and index to these descriptions; and another index to names appearing in the documents themselves, though not in the calendar. Both these indexes should be carefully consulted, since they lead the researcher to material, relating to the non-Canadian parts of the careers of persons of Canadian interest, which does not appear in the General Index, where only the Canadian sections of the papers have been indexed. Textual records (Électronique) The shelf list provides a list of material available, showing its type, outside dates, and connection with specific colonies. It correlates the Lambeth Palace Library's references with the descriptions in the Manross Calendar; and with the microfilm reel numbers of Library and Archives Canada. It also provides a somewhat fuller description of volumes 41 and 42, which contain additional items not included in the Manross Calendar and Indexes. (66:Expurgé)

Textual records (Papier) This fonds is available in the General Index (or, card cabinets) in the Reference Services room, 2nd floor, 395 Wellington in Ottawa. These cards are arranged alphabetically by collection and include names, places and subjects. The collections are from various time periods between the 1600s and the early 1980s. (90: Ouvert)
