Fonds consists of the following series of records: Subject files, general, 1957-1972; subject files by government department, 1957-1972; conferences and meetings, 1961-1962, 1967-1972.

The fonds also contains photographs of the Stroud-Bridgman Belt Press invented by William Stroud, McKeller, Ont., [ca. 1962]; and Members of Parliament, including Gordon Aiken, Len Marchard, and Ray Perrault visiting Chedabucto Bay, N.S., for a briefing by Dr. Patrick McTaggart-Cowan on the oil spill from the tanker S.S. Arrow, 1970.

Aiken, Gordon, 1918- : Gordon Harvey Aiken was born September 26 in Ripley, Ontario. He attended Allenford (Ont.) Public and Continuation Schools, Owen Sound (Ont.), C.V.I. and Osgoode Hall. He was called to the bar in 1940. After service with the Canadian Army, 1941-1945, he returned to practise law in Gravenhurst, Ontario. He served as a judge of the Juvenile and Family Court in Muskoka, Ontario, 1951-1956. A Progressive Conservative, he was elected Member of Parliament for Parry Sound-Muskoka in 1957 and re-elected in 1958, 1962, 1963, 1965 and 1968. He was parliamentary observer at the 13th General Assembly of the United Nations in 1958, and a delegate to the 16th General Assembly in 1961. He retired from politics in 1972.
