The Post 51 class or series consists of 102 packets or volumes of service contracts between the British government and private persons or companies for the conveyance of overseas mail, between the United Kingdom and North America. It includes some contracts for South America, Australia, New Zealand, China and Japan. The National Archives of Canada has copied selected packets of Post 51 relating mostly to sea mail service contracts between Great Britain and North America. This material is available on microfilm reels A-1360 to A-1361.
