Additional Manuscripts 15491, which was added to the holdings of the British Museum (now the British Library) in 1845, is a folio volume of documents relating to the exercise of military authority in Quebec during the first decade after the Conquest. It illustrates the resistance of both French and English citizens to the administration of Major-General James Murray., At some time, probably quite early in the twentieth century, the National Archives of Canada transcribed the volume, which was bound with other transcripts, from Add. MSS. 6865, 24322, 24323, and Church Briefs B. VI. 8, 6 Geo. III, in a volume entitled Miscellaneous Papers, which originally constituted Volume 377 of the old "M" Series. This volume was unbound in 1990 and its contents dispersed to their separate locations.
