Fonds consists of the papers of Malcolm Fraser, chiefly concerned with the affairs of the 84th Regiment, 1775-84, together with some papers of his son, Simon Fraser, 1784-1812, and a few miscellaneous items.

Fraser, Malcolm, 1733-1815 (family) : Malcolm Fraser (1733-1815), an Ensign with the 78th Regiment, Fraser's Highlanders during the Louisbourg and Quebec campaigns, acquired a seigniory at Murray Bay in 1760. He served with the 84th Regiment as Captain and Paymaster from 1775 until its disbandment in 1783. His son, Simon Fraser (1769-1844) was licenced to practice medicine in 1792, and served with the 42nd Regiment, with the rank of Lieutenant for some years.

General note:

Received in 1933 and 1935 from Mme Hector Prévost, née Alice Fraser, of Rivière-du-Loup. Volume 34 composed of material, chiefly concerning the 84th Regiment, was received in 1935 and 1945; a few additional items were received in 1971 and 1972.

Volume 16 was for a time held by P.V. Tache of Kamouraska.
