The fonds also contains photographs taken at annual meetings of the Society; and portraits of various officials and members of the Society, 1952-1963.Provenance:Biography/Administrative history:Canadian Society of Microbiologists : The Canadian Society of Microbiologists (C.S.M.) is the second largest biological society in Canada, and was founded in 1951. Its aims are to promote the advancement of microbiology in all its aspects and to facilitate the interchange of ideas between microbiologists in Canada and throughout the world. The membership includes scientists and students from all biological disciplines who are interested in the study, research and application of microbiology and related fields.
The C.S.M. is affiliated with the Biological Council of Canada, the Association of Scientific, Engineering and Technological Community of Canada and the International Association of Microbiological Societies.Additional information:General note:Received in 1974 from the Canadian Society of Microbiologists through Dr. John Robinson of London, Ont; in 1975 through Dr. A.J.
