Schultz and Company of Vancouver, British Columbia, was established in 1944 by Charles Davies Schultz, its first president. Born in Vancouver in 1904, Charles Schultz graduated in 1931 from the University of British Columbia with a degree in Forest Engineering. He worked for several employers in the British Columbia, Caribbean, and South American forest industries before becoming Resident Engineer for Bloedel, Stewart and Welch in 1940, where he remained until founding his own firm in 1944. Incorporated in British Columbia in 1945 and in the state of Washington in 1951, C.D. Schultz and Company initially provided consulting services in engineering and forestry, and grew with the Pacific Northwest forest industry.
C.D. Schultz and its subsidiary, Schultz International, have since diversified and entered the world market for consulting services. In addition to forestry and other aspects of the forest industry, areas of expertise include environmental assessments, resource development, parks and recreation planning, transportation, watershed and reservoir development, land reclamation management services, and studies in economics, finance, and markets. By the mid 1970s, the Schultz companies had completed more than 2,000 projects in over 30 countries in the Americas, South East Asia, Australasia, and Africa. W.D. Ewing succeeded Charles Schultz in 1979 as president.Additional information:General note:Received in 1977 from C.D.
