Fonds consists of Letters Patent incorporating the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires, dated 25 July 1925, and Supplementary Letters Patent, dated 15 February 1937, 6 September 1972 and 19 June 1974. There is also a letter from the Montreal legal firm of Magee, O'Donnell & Byers (dated 3 March 1954) to G.L. Ross, which returns to the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires the original Letters Patent and the 1937 Supplementary Letters Patent.

The 1925 Letters Patent and the 1937 Supplementary Letters Patent are oversize documents and have been placed in horizontal storage, container 2.

Canadian Corps of Commissionaires : The Canadian Corps of Commissionaires came into existence by Letters Patent, dated 25 July 1925, after an application for a charter under The Companies Act Amendment Act of 1917 was presented to Arthur Bliss Copp, Secretary of State of Canada.

Some of the objects of the Corps were to provide employment for all worthy ex-service men, to create a genuine spirit of comradeship, mutual respect and assistance among its members, and to practice in its fullest sense the principles of the Corps, viz: service and efficiency.
