The class FO 115 consists of embassy and consular Archives of British diplomatic missions stationed abroad. Included is correspondence with the Foreign Office in London, the foreign ministry of the country in which the missions are stationed, and correpondence with other British missions in the country. The National Archives of Canada has acquired reports of naval attachés 1880-1882, extracted from FO115/673, microfilm reel B-833 and a letter dated Washington, 29 March 1869, from Edward Thornton to the Earl of Clarendon at the Foreign Office enclosing a report of Benjamin F. Butler, Chairman of a Select Committee of the House of Representatives dated 2 March 1869 on the possibilities of special arrangements with respect to trade and fisheries with Prince Edward Island, FO115/490, fols. 172-180. This item is located on microfilm reel B-198.
