Fonds consists of a diary written in 1983 and operation documents, 1944-1945, describing the Allied landings in Naples, Southern France and Normandy. Also includes maps documenting Allied intentions pertaining to the Allied invasions of Normandy and southern France. Most maps show German defenses.

The fonds also contains a collection of maps prepared in connection with the Allied landings at Normandy and the Gulf of St. Tropez.

Workman, Ian William, b. 1925 : Born in Northern Ireland, Ian William Workman, lawyer and seaman, attended Oxford University 1942-1949 and emigrated to Canada in 1952. His naval career was from 1943 until being demobilized in 1946.
