Fonds consists of the records of the Trans-Canada Alliance of German Canadians, including Charters and by-laws, 1951-1970; minutes of meetings of the Zentralvorstand, 1951, 1956-1969; programmes, reports, correspondence and other records of Annual Meetings, 1959-1970, and Special Conferences, 1962-1965; Financial Records, 1951-1971; Correspondence, 1938-1971; Clippings, 1957-1971; Pictorial Illustrations, 1952-1971; Programmes, 1953-1972; Publications, [ca. 1935]-1971; records of the German Canadian Business and Professional Association, Toronto, 1954-1968; records of the Quebec Branch of the TCA, 1966-1979 as well as correspondence, reports and other records relating to special programs which the TCA sponsored and activities in which it was involved.

Fonds also consists of a video recording of an interview with Karl May from the television program German diary, 1975.

Trans Canada Alliance of German Canadians : The Trans-Canada Alliance of German Canadians (TCA) or Trans-Kanada Vereinigung der Deutsch-Kanadier, E.V., was incorporated in 1952 to serve as an umbrella organization for German organizations across Canada. It grew out of the Canadian Society for German Relief and the co-operative effort by German Canadians to extend aid to war-devastated Austria and Germany after the war.

The organization sought to promote good citizenship among Canadians of German ancestry, while maintaining their cultural heritage. It promoted cultural exchange between Canada and Germany, and aided, stimulated or sponsored German language schools, German choirs and sports clubs. The organization also sought to serve as spokesperson for German organizations across Canada and to present their interests in dealings with government or with non-governmental organizations.

By 1972 it counted 94 organizations, with 20,000 active and 40,000 social members. Its successor is the German-Canadian Congress (GCC), founded in 1984.
