Sub-series consists of minutes of Ontario Racing Board meetings (1949-1953) concerning the running of races in Ontario; and minutes of Dominion Racing Board meetings (1936-1953, 1960) concerning the running of races, fines, fees, the conduct of referees / riders and lists of members of the board. The 1936 to 1953 minutes also contain the meetings of the Ontario Racing Board for 1936-1937. Sub-series also includes one file containing Racing Board race schedules, annual meeting reports and chairman's reports spanning the years 1952-1970; a file containing general Dominion Racing Board correspondence dating from 1962; and a further correspondence file maintained by Dominion Racing Board member Doug Péron covering the years 1957-1965.

Dominion and Ontario Racing Boards : The CWA constitution specifies that the Dominion Racing Board (DRB) was to be composed of a Chairman and four other members appointed by the Chairman and confirmed by the CWA Executive / Board of Directors. The duties of the Dominion Racing Board included the administration of all aspects of professional and amateur racing and the assignment of Canadian Championships to such clubs or districts as was deemed advisable. The DRB also sanctioned other races; set the distances for all Canadian and provincial championships; investigated complaints that athletes had breached their amateur status; heard protests; registered professional riders and trainers; and issued and / or revoked suspensions and penalties. The Ontario Racing Board (ORB), like other District (provincial) boards, was composed of a District Chairman and two or more members appointed by him. As a district board, the duties of the ORB included issuing amateur licences; approving decisions of track officials; issuing suspensions; censoring the character of prizes; receiving information on gate receipts and attendance at amateur events; and allotting district, county and city championships.

The minute books within this sub-series originally formed two separate series (MIKAN 112645 & 112646) in the arrangement adopted in 1976. Both original series were titled "Minute books."
