Series consists of material from the lumbering operations in Ontario as well as general company records. Found in this series is correspondence relating to most other Boyd interests.

Series also contains correspondence relating to Bobcaygeon lumbering and sawmill operation, shanty operations, timber limits, lumber sales, puchase and sale of property, slides and locks on the Trent Canal, and legal actions, diaries and memoranda books relating to shanty and depot operations, timber cruises, law suits and agreements; accounting records including ledgers, journals, daybooks, invoice registers, orderbooks, timebooks, bank statements and cancelled cheques relating to Boyd operations.

In addition, there are seven posters in horizontal storage, containers 1112 to 1118. This material relates to regattas in 1907-1908 for the Trent Valley Navigation Company, Bobcaygeon, Ont.; forest fire regulations, Quebec, 1906; a mill picnic for employees of Mossom Boyd, Jacob's Island; a mortgage sale of the John Moore property, Bobcaygeon, Ont., 1892; and shooting on the island; and 'Hybrid Buffaloes From Big Island Stock Farm'.
