Much of the material is historic in nature. Included are correspondence files, draft lists of Spanish Civil War volunteers, reminiscences of veterans, and information on a host of other subjects relating to the MacKenzie-Papineau Battalion and its veterans' organization. Volume 6 of the series holds books, pamphlets, and other printed matter.
Walter E. Dent served as a member of the MacKenzie-Papineau Battalion during the Spanish Civil War.
