The records of sessional idemnities take two forms: tables listing all Members entitled to the indemnity, and the "declaration and receipt" signed by each Member to acknowledge a claim and its payment. The surviving records are remarkably complete for 1849-1866.

The Declaration and Receipt forms bear alpha-numeric designations indicating they formed part of the series of vouchers for expenditures now in series C 5. The reason for the partial segregation of these records (some of which remain in series C 5) is not known.
