Series consists of subscription books of the Quebec Gazette, 1768-1803 (volume 46); including one for Staff Surgeon Walter Henry's book "Trifles from My Portfolio", 1839-1841; letters to the editor and correspondence relating to accounts, orders and subscriptions, 1793-1846 (volumes 157-182); accounts and orders, 1792-1835 (volumes 183-190). The Gazette itself is found in RG 4, D 1, but researchers must use the microfilm at the National Library.
The series also consists of 884 postal covers covering the period from 1796 to 1847. Most postal markings are from Lower Canada and Canada East. Straight-line postmarks are well represented, with covers from Montreal (1802-1828), Three Rivers (1799-1827) and William Henry (1815-1816). Other postal markings of interest are manuscript postal markings (1823-1842), double circles (1830-1839) and broken circles.
