This file contains evaluation data collected during the second phase of the 1984 Canada advertising campaign. The advertising program was designed by Canadian Facts to support the Canadian Government Office of Tourism's (CGOT's) market development objectives specified in the Operational Marketing Plan of September 1983. This 1984 Spring-Summer campaign was divided in 3 phases. The campaign included television commercials in all Canadian markets, advertising in magazines, and newspapers, and radio commercials in Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa. During the 2nd interviewing periods people were asked about their destinations for pleasure trips in 1984 and / if they were planning any pleasure trips in 1984. Also, they were asked: to rate Canada and the U.S. for twenty five specific attributes relating to travel; to rate their interest in taking a vacation trip to specific destinations in the next two years; to specify the source of awareness of vacationing in Canada. Demographic information were included in the first part of the interview.
