The series includes Irene Spry's personal papers, memorabilia, financial files, correspondence from family members, and documents relating to Graham Spry. The latter material contains offprints of his writings that are not in his own fonds, annotated books and articles, files pertaining to the Graham Spry memorial lecture and fund for public broadcasting, and correspondence and draft chapters for his collected letters, "Passion and Conviction" (Regina: Canadian Plains Research Centre, 1992), edited by Rose Potvin. The family correspondence contains large runs of letters from Irene's father, mother, sister Anne, and daughter Lib, among others. Her father's letters from Kenya, 1927-1946, contain detailed discussions of local conditions and political analysis. Another file holds letters and post cards from Graham to Irene or their children written during times when they were apart. In addition, the series includes material relating to her early education, honours and awards, property and real estate, daily planners and calendars, and income tax returns. The series also holds genealogical material relating to the Biss and Sykes families, including the typescript journal of Annie Eliza Sykes of an ocean voyage in the sailing ship Shannon to Calcutta in 1868.
