Series consists of correspondence, statements, papers, memoranda, drafts, clippings, articles and speeches related to the United Nations, Hague Academy, International Joint Commission, Department of External Affairs, International Court of Justice, Canada-U.S. relations, law and politics of water, international environmental law, International Law Association, Harvard Centre International Affairs, Parliamentary Committees and the Canadian Constiutional Crisis.

Series also includes files covering topics such as human rights, technical training and assistance for developing countries, NATO, NORAD, the Commonwealth, the Common Market and Latin America. General correspondence and manuscripts on a variety of topics and international organizations and conferences including: World Peace through Law Organization, International Law Association and its Canadian Branch, space and aviation law, the Arctic, war crimes etc. A large block of the material deals with Law of the Sea Conferences and includes correspondence with senior government officials and others, the federal Advisory Committee, the Inter departmental Committee on Law of the Sea, the U.N.O. Committee on L.O.S. and conferences on the subject.
