Series consist of various records, largely relating to personnel matters, maintained by the Administrative Branch. The series includes a general personnel records sub-series, general correspondence sub-series, as well as a sub-series containing personnel files of postal censorship examiners. In the 1940's such personnel matters were handled by divisions within Administration Branch.

Canada. Post Office Dept. Administration Branch : In the 1940's personnel matters were handled by the Training and Welfare Division and the Staff Relations Division within Administration Branch and by the Staff Relations Division and Revenue Post Office Branch within the Operations Branch. In 1947 the Administrative Services Branch was renamed the Administration and Personnel Branch. After a 1952 reorganization, a Personnel Branch was established and included a Personnel Development Division, a Training Division, and an Employee Services Division.
