Scope and content:

Sub-series consists of numbered correspondence received by the Board of Works, 1842-1860. A break in the correspondence numbers occurs because of the change in the organization of the Board in 1846. The numbered correspondence ranges from 1 to 11032 and from 5 to 45671., Sub-series also consists of maps, plans and drawings of various improvements to public buildings, roads, canals, bridges, timber slides and dredging in Upper and Lower Canada.
