Canada. Labour Canada. Policy and Liaison : According to Labour Canada's Annual Report for 1985-1986, the Policy and Liaison program in Labour Canada was responsible for providing the Minister of Labour with policy advice on federal- provincial relations, international relations and labour-related economic issues. Operating under the direction of an assistant deputy minister, the program consisted of three branches: Federal-Provincial Relations, International Relations, and Policy and Strategic Analysis. The Policy and Liaison program also administered the department's Technology Impact Research Fund which awarded .8 million in 1985-1986 to labour organizations, women's groups and academic institutions for study of the human and social aspects of technological change in the workplace.
