Series consists of files that were gathered by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's Historical Archives Section. The files were created at Headquarters in Ottawa, at the English Services Division in Toronto, and at the French Services Division in Montreal. The files pertain to all aspects of the activities of the Canadian Radio Broadcasting Commission (1932-1936) and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, respecting administration, legislation, engineering, international services, station relations, programming and other related matters. Also included are reference files created by the Historical Archives Section or the Public Affairs Section on topics of particular interest to the CBC.

The cartographic and architectural component of this series contains a portfolio and individual maps showing broadcast and network coverage of C.B.C. radio and television stations. A portfolio of site and floor plans of the proposed CBC Centre in Toronto, a site plan of the Canadian Caribbean Information and Broadcast Centre in Barbados, drawings of the Sports Palace in Moscow that hosted some games of the 1972 Canada-U.S.S.R. hockey sumit series, and two drawings showing Place des Nations at Expo 67 in Montreal, and a map of Canada with annotations showing basic CBC and privately owned station coverage.

The brooch commemorates the first radio broadcast in 1927.

Note sur la description matérielle :

Some maps annotated in pencil or marker. Three architectural drawings are on mylar.
Revisions to the original drawing of Place des Nations consist of the addition of 19 b&w photo illustrations of the finished site as seen from different television camera angles, 1 b&w photograph of a bird's eye view of the Place des Nations site and a map of the entire Expo 67 site indicating the location of CBC mobile units.
